Greetings to you, brothers and sisters in Christ,
In response to multiple families in our church body contracting the COVID-19 virus over the past week, our church leadership has decided to cancel all church programming and gatherings until August 28, 2021. Tentatively, we will resume Sunday morning services on August 29 and Wednesday night gatherings on September 1. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse is not nor will it become a source of spread for the Corona virus.
I’m sure that we can all agree that this is not where we wished to find ourselves at the beginning of the summer. However, I would urge you, church, to not see this as a setback for our ministries, but rather as a precaution to care for the welfare of our entire church family. In accordance with state guidelines, we want to do our part in stopping the spread of the Corona virus.
In the meantime, on Sunday August 15 and 22, I will be presenting sermons through Facebook Live at the usual worship time: 10:30AM. I encourage you and your families to gather together to worship in your home.
I anticipate gathering with you all again on Sunday, August 29. Please forward this email or share this information with anyone from our church family who might not be on this email list or does not have access to social media, email, and/or the Internet.
Blessings to you, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
The Office of the Governor of Louisiana and the Plaquemines Parish Health Department urge the following requests of our church attendees:
As our nation and our state face unprecedented challenges with the spread of the Corona Virus, we can do our part in stopping the spread by adhering to these requests from our government leaders.
